Things to Do in Chesterfield/Wildwood
Chesterfield Amphitheater is a beautiful, unique outdoor venue. With a gorgeous design and fantastic acoustics, its excellent 4,000 seats make it an ideal place for medium and small events. It hosts the area’s Open Highway Music Festival, amongst many other concerts and events annually. Babler State Park is a fantastic place to enjoy the outdoors and each other’s company, with a stone gateway for cookouts and hangouts. Boasting campsites, an amphitheater, hiking trails, and equestrian trails, visitors can relax in the outdoors mere minutes from the city.
Featuring a pavilion, education center, and miles of lovely hiking trails, Rockwoods Reservation is a natural oasis in the middle of St. Louis County. The wildlife preserve has a wide variety of animal and plant life, rock formations, caves, and springs for an exciting adventure. Central Park Chesterfield covers 55 acres of beautiful, serene nature. A one-of-a-kind feature of the park is the Awakening statue, a 70-foot-long and 17-foot-high sculpture of a giant bursting out of the ground, made in 1980.
Celebrate Wildwood is an annual festival to celebrate the town’s founding. It is a time of music, art, and culture, with a morning parade of floats, decorated golf carts, and scout troops. Arts and crafts booths sell hand-made gifts, and face painters, balloon artists, bouncy houses, jugglers, pony rides, water slides, and a rock-climbing wall are available.
